Chandler and Mike Lamm are two of our Business Insurance advisors who often work together as a team. The best part is – they’re family. If you’ve never had the pleasure of meeting this father-daughter duo, you’re missing out! Mike grew up in Minnesota and has been in sales since college, with the last 15 years in commercial insurance. In his free time, you might find him hunting or golfing. Chandler, his daughter, graduated from Kansas State University with a degree in Professional Strategic Selling in May of 2020. She joined The Accel Group shortly after that in June 2020. Outside of work, Chandler enjoys working on projects around her house, traveling, and spending time with her dog, friends & family, and boyfriend, Alan.
Chandler and Mike are both personable, passionate, hard-working, diligent, consistent, and ambitious. We recently had the chance to sit down with them and chat more about their story working as a duo in Wichita, Kansas.
How did you start working together?
Chandler: We’ve always dreamed about working together, and when the opportunity came to open an office in Kansas for The Accel Group, I jumped on it. After a few years of working alone, I knew I needed my dad alongside me.
Mike: We have always wanted to work together. I had passed on my first retirement date from my former insurance company, so I quickly took advantage of it the next year. It truly has been a dream come true.
What’s it like working as a team?
Chandler: I have always looked up to my dad and have had the utmost respect for him. He’s been my coach on many different sports teams growing up and throughout life, but the message has always been the same. Work hard, be honest, and stay humble; the rest will take care of itself. Working together now as adults has allowed us to see two different perspectives, and we learn something new from each other every day. I couldn’t ask for a better teammate!
Mike: It’s been awesome. I have always said my most important job was being a good dad, and I would never let work get in the way of that. Chandler’s intelligence, work ethic, and professionalism have made her the best teammate I could have ever hoped for!
Lastly, why do you enjoy selling insurance?
Chandler: We enjoy providing an extension of our clients’ businesses by solving the unique challenges that surround their risk management program. The cost of insurance has a large impact on a company’s bottom line. When working with us, we strive to bring transparency and integrity in all aspects.
Mike: We always aim to bring a unique and comfortable sales approach to our insureds and prospects.
