At the beginning of April, Kara Roeder, Director of Benefits Operations, and Amanda Burks, Individual Benefits Specialist, attended Medicarians. This national conference highlights the ‘future of senior health and wealth distribution.’ In total, over 4,400 professionals attended the event at the Caesars Forum in Las Vegas.
Over the course of three days, Kara and Amanda attended engaging sessions regarding Medicare, ACA health insurance, and the current state of markets. Over 70 vendors came to share their products and plans. This gave our team valuable trend information and updates directly from the source!
Amanda shared some of her key takeaways from the conference with us. First and foremost, she emphasized how energizing it was to be in rooms with people who share her passions. She is excited to come back with new ideas The Accel Group can incorporate in 2025.
- Market share: We are currently seeing an aging population in America. Agents are vital in the senior population. After all, more than 4 million individuals will turn 65 years old in 2025 alone. The record number of individuals turning 65 will continue to peak through 2028.
- Continuous improvement to senior insurance product offerings: We are also seeing a record number of individuals enrolling in Plan G, and the premium costs are increasing year after year. Amanda aims to share with clients that there are other options available to our insureds that will continue to offer peace of mind with the right coverage combinations.
- Technology will continue to play a large role in managing client data and communications: Our team learned from a great number of discussions around Artificial Intelligence (AI). AI could benefit clients and insurance agencies alike with efficiencies that have not been available in the past. Amanda shares, “Technology has come so far in allowing our clients easy access to understanding their insurance plans and options for insurance quotes. It could be something as simple as collecting a client’s signature digitally, but it makes a big difference.”
Kara and Amanda returned from Medicarians excited and inspired, with fresh insights to support our clients and elevate our individual benefits services. As the senior health and wealth landscape continues to evolve, The Accel Group remains committed to staying ahead of industry trends, embracing innovation, and guiding clients through every stage of life with confidence.
