Andrea Rogers
Chief Operating Officer
As the Chief Operating Officer at the Accel Group, Andrea is equally skilled leading people and keeping high-level strategy front and center. In her role as COO, Andrea uses her ability to create a shared vision where she inspires others around her to collaborate, identifies challenges and opportunities, and extracts passion and inspiration from her team members to provide the highest level of customer satisfaction while also understanding the details of the day-to-day execution.
Andrea started at Millhiser Smith Agency as Director of Claims and Risk Improvement Services. When Millhiser Smith Agency merged with The Accel Group in 2019, Andrea moved into the Director of Operations role. Prior to joining The Accel Group, she worked as Director of Professional Services at Scheldrup Blades P.C. In each of these roles, Andrea has enjoyed providing consultative solutions to business partners and developed her career around assisting businesses to keep their employees safe and healthy through claims handling, risk consulting, training, and education. Andrea has spoken at local, state, and national conferences on claims-related topics and workplace safety.
Andrea also believes in giving back to her community and is a passionate advocate for bettering the lives of children. She has been a volunteer for organizations like Junior Achievement, teaching financial literacy to middle school students; Meals on Wheels; and was appointed by the Linn County Juvenile Court to be a Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA), which advocates on behalf of children removed from their homes due to abuse or neglect. Andrea served as both a CASA volunteer and on the Friends of Iowa CASA Board. She also served as Chair of Linn County’s Early Childhood Iowa Board in 2021 and served her full eight years as a board member. Currently, Andrea serves as Vice President of the Accel Foundation Board, where she and her colleagues provide community support to local non-profit organizations through volunteer opportunities and financial assistance.
In 2019, Andrea was named one of the Corridor Business Journal’s “Forty Under 40” and is a 2022 graduate of the Iowa Association of Business and Industry’s “Leadership Iowa” program. Andrea is married to Ben Rogers, and they have two children, Kieran and Penelope. Outside of work, Andrea and her family have a passion for traveling to different places and trying new foods. Andrea is also a runner who has completed in multiple marathons and half-marathons around the country.
